Kaidi Kivioja has been dominating the Estonian triathlon scene since 2007, when she began competing at the age of 14. Her talent was quickly recognized, and she soon began racing internationally in European junior cups. In 2012, she achieved a remarkable 12th-place finish at the Junior World Championships in Auckland, showcasing her potential on the global stage.
Since 2013, Kaidi has steadily progressed through the ranks of the elite field. Her dedication and hard work paid off in 2016 when, at just 23 years old, she became the first Estonian woman to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio. This accomplishment marked a significant milestone in her career and inspired a generation of young athletes in her home country.
Five years later, Kaidi once again qualified for the Olympics, proving her consistency and resilience. In 2020, she embarked on a new challenge and started combining middle-distance triathlons with short-course racing. By now, she has already completed 10 events, with 3 podium finishes and a 12th place finish at her first 70.3 World Championships in Lahti in 2023.
Looking ahead, Kaidi's ambition is clear: to become the best middle-distance triathlete she can be.
