Albert Moreno Molins
Spain’s Albert Moreno Molins has enjoyed plenty of success in various competitions since first getting into the sport of triathlon at the age of 17.
One of his finest performances to date came in his native country back in 2018, as he secured a superb bronze medal in the 2018 European Middle Distance Triathlon Championships in Ibiza, behind Guilio Molinari of Italy and Miki Taagholt of Denmark.
More success followed, including an excellent second place at IRONMAN 70.3 in Marrakech in 2019.
Moreno Molins started taking part in athletics at the age of 14, before broadening out into swimming and cycling at the age of 17. He admits to being bitten by the triathlon bug at a very young age and has never looked back.
He trains alongside the likes of Marcel Zamora, a multiple IRONMAN and Embrunman winner, and other professional cyclists. The cycling discipline is the one Moreno Molins most enjoys as it is the most social of the three.
The Spaniard admits to the swim being his least favourite of the three disciplines - while he says he loves swimming in the open water, the confines of a swimming pool for training are not exactly his idea of fun.
Albert is driven by the potential to Improve in every race he competes in, and by the fact he is able to race with and against some of the best athletes in the world.
His favouriteholiday location is Andorra, his favourite cheat meal is the delicious combo of pizza and ice cream and his favourite race is the Triathlon Gérardmer XL - in which he placed third in both 2018 and 2019. He admits he is most scared of flying as he is afraid of heights.
As for the best advice he has ever received? Quite simply to enjoy every single day.
