Brittany Higgins was introduced to triathlons at a young age when her dad, being a triathlete, would bring her along to local races. She eventually jumped in and started competing along side him. In High School, Brittany started running competitively. She went on to attended Southern Illinois University, where she ran Cross Country, Indoor/Outdoor Track and graduated with a degree in English and Minor in Journalism.
After college, Brittany missed competitive racing and was looking for an outlet. While working full-time, she began training and started having success within the local triathlon community.
Needing to further challenge herself, she started racing the longer Olympic and 70.3 distances.
In 2014, Brittany qualified for her Pro Card. Still working full-time, she began racing as a professional which was challenging to juggle work and a demanding training schedule. Since 2018, Brittany has fully dedicated her time to the professional sport while working part-time.
