Biography
Having started her pro career over 15 years ago, America’s Sarah True, nee Groff, has covered every triathlon distance available.
At school, a tough decision between cross country running and swimming led her to make her triathlon debut.
With an impressive sporting CV, True is a two time Olympian, and multiple Ironman 70.3 champion. And - as well as a consistent full distance performer, she also stands as an advocate for mental health in sport. “I’ve realised that nobody puts more pressure on me than I put on myself.” She says, “as an athlete, I have to give myself a break physically or else I can’t perform; we should be thinking about ourselves the same way. We think of that downtime as being lazy."
True continues to race long distance triathlon while co-hosting @ifwewereriding podcast.
