Born in Oak Bluff, Manitoba, Canada, in 1994, Tyler Mislawchuk grew up immersed in sport, first playing ice hockey before discovering triathlon as a teenager. Initially focused on swimming and running, he was drawn to the challenge and complexity of multisport, joining a local club and quickly rising through the junior ranks.
His breakthrough moment came in 2019 when he claimed victory at the Tokyo Olympic Test Event, cementing his status as a world-class contender. That performance, combined with his relentless pursuit of excellence, propelled him to the highest level of the sport. A three-time Olympian renowned for his speed and tactical racing, Tyler has consistently excelled on the world stage, delivering standout performances at major international events, including multiple World Triathlon podiums.
Now training at altitude in Flagstaff, Arizona, Tyler is continually pushing his limits in a high-performance environment designed to maximise endurance and race-day execution. Among his proudest achievements are his Olympic appearances, his Tokyo Test Event win, and a statement victory in his 70.3 debut, proving his ability to adapt to longer distances.
Looking ahead, Tyler is shifting his focus to middle and long-distance racing, setting his sights on the ultimate test of endurance—Ironman Hawaii. With a natural affinity for racing in extreme heat and a belief that he has what it takes to win on the world’s biggest stage, he is determined to establish himself as a force over the Ironman distance.
